Otoplasty or Bat Ear Correction
or Corrective Surgery on Sticking Out Ears is the operation for set back the ears. The operation will be performed by incision behind the ears, remove some excess ear cartilage, skin and suture to set back the ear pinna, no scar, no wound on the anterior part of the ears, the ears still look everything the same as before operation, just only they will be set back to the normal position.
Surgical procedure
The operation is under the local anesthesia. No pain at all during the operation, just a little bit pain only during injection of local anesthetic agent. The operation takes time about 2-3 hours for both sides. The patient can go home or back to hotel after finished the operation and comes back to check the result and stitches off at 5 days later. The patient will have gauze cover the wound behind the ears in the first day after operation, then the gauze can be removed in the next day. Normally after operation the patient will have a little pain in the first night and the next day but the pain can be relieved with the combination of good anti-inflammatory drug and pain killer, after that the patient will feel very little pain only when touching the ears only. Patients can do normal activities, shampoo the hair, shower, shopping, walk on the beach except can not swim for one week only
Before operation
Inform us about any allergies, any serious medical condition(s), and all medications you are taking (both prescription and non–prescription). Avoid aspirin and aspirin–containing medicines for one week prior to surgery.
